The Vine Inter-Church Primary School

'Opening Hearts and Minds'

Vine Logo

Promoted by the Church of England and Methodist Church, The Vine School opened its doors in September 2005 as a neighbourhood school with a broadly Christian character. Lee Faris is the Headteacher. Cambourne Church, along with the Methodist Circuit and Diocese of Ely, appoint foundation governors for the school.

It has been exciting to see the school grow to where it is today - it is now near capacity so The Vine is flourishing!

The name The Vine (taken from John 15) was chosen to speak of Christ and of the Spirit working in the school producing good fruit in the lives of the children.

We believe that this is a fantastic school and plays a significant role in the community. But don't take our word for it - let us invite you to come and see for yourself!

The following is the school prayer which is inscribed throughout the walls of the school:

This is our school
Let peace dwell here
Let its rooms be full of contentment
Let love abide here
Love of one another
Love of mankind
Love of life itself
And love of God
Let us remember
That as many hands build a house
So many hearts create a school

Welcome Visitors

New to Church?

00 Welcome

Welcome! Whether you've just moved to the area, or have lived here all your life, we hope our website helps you to find out everything you want to know about our Church.

When & where does the church meet?

Due to the latest government advice regarding the protection of our community during the Coronavirus pandemic we have taken the unprecedented and sad, but necessary, decision to suspend all church gatherings including home groups and Sunday Worship until further notice.

Please look at our Facebook page and this website for further details about how we will be walking together at this difficult time.

Sunday morning services are normally held at 9.30am & 11.00am; the 9.30am service is more traditional and reflective, while the 11.00am service is more contemporary with activities offered for children and young people. Communion is celebrated on the second and fourth Sunday of the month. We all meet together at 10.00am during the month of August. On the fourth Sunday of the month at 7pm there is an informal service called Encounter.

We meet at:

Cambourne Church
Jeavons Lane
Cambourne
Cambs
CB23 6AF

You can see a map on our contact us page

There is limited parking available on the site.

What should I expect when I visit the church?

You will receive a very warm welcome particularly from our Welcome Team who will be able to answer your questions and direct you to where you need to go. There will be some singing to start with as well as some prayers and a reading from the bible. There will be a talk (some reflections) from one of the leaders of the church, with a chance to discuss it further at the end of the service.

Tea, coffee and biscuits are served after the service where there is plenty of time to meet new people and ask more questions.

What is there for children and young people at church?

We have a fantastic programme for the children and young people at the Church for ages 0–18. Children and young people stay with their families at the start of the service as we worship (sing songs!) together for the first part of the morning. Someone will announce when the children and young people need to go to their programme. We have young church for those from 0 - Yr 6 and a youth group called Xtreme for our young people in years 7-11.

For more information about what happens in the children's and youth work please visit the relevant age group section under church life.

Is there a dress code?

No! Please just be yourself and come dressed in your 'normal' clothes.

Will I have to join in?

Not at all!
You are free to simply observe or participate as much as feels comfortable for you.
