Children and Families

children

Sunday mornings

Young Church (for school years R-6) meets on Sunday mornings in the Church Annexe, everyone starts in the main service with their families before heading out with the Young Church team for a bible story and activities.
There is a creche in the foyer for children below Young Church age.

Compassion drama
On Sunday 30th April 2023 many of us enjoyed a Young Church drama in aid of Compassion (Young Church and Xtreme - our youth group -  sponsor a child in Kenya through Compassion) before the 11.00am service. Thank you to David Wadsworth, Helen Heywood, and everyone else who was involved, including many children.
Some have asked for a copy of the script, it is available here.

Mid week

Explore Together

Unfortunately, due to team availability, we have had to stop running Explore Together at the moment. We hope to run some form of after school group for children again at some point in the future.

Toddler Group

  • Wednesdays (Term time only) 9.30am - 11am.
  • £2 per child, and then half-price (£1) for any siblings.
We do craft, sensory play, singing and the kids help to prepare their own fruit snack. We would love to have you!
We do have to limit the number of spaces per session due to COVID precautions and room size, so you need to request a space each week.
Here’s what you need to do:
EMAIL ONLY kerrion.miller@cambournechurch.org.uk stating the child’s name, and age, and I will send instructions on how to register. You will need to fill in a consent form and then we will add you to our list.
Looking forward to meeting you

Planning your Visit

New to Church?

00 Welcome

Welcome! Whether you've just moved to the area, or have lived here all your life, we hope our website helps you to find out everything you want to know about our Church.

When & where does the church meet?

We hold two services in the Cambourne Church Centre on Sunday mornings, at 9.30am and at 11am. Any changes to this will be shared on our Facebook page or shown on the calendar here.

The 9.30 service is more traditional in style with the music mainly consisting of hymns played on a keyboard.
The 11am service is more contemporary in style with the music being lead by a worship team. Most of the songs are more modern than those played at the 9.30 service.

We meet at:
Cambourne Church
Jeavons Lane
Cambourne
Cambs
CB23 6AF

You can see a map on our contact us page

There is limited parking available to the rear of the church building. The postcode of the car park is CB23 6DZ.

What should I expect when I visit the church?

You will receive a very warm welcome particularly from our Welcome Team who will be able to answer your questions and direct you to where you need to go. There will be some singing to start with as well as some prayers and a reading from the bible. There will be a talk (some reflections) from one of the leaders of the church, with a chance to discuss it further at the end of the service.

Tea, coffee and biscuits are served after the service where there is plenty of time to meet new people and ask more questions.

What is there for children and young people at church?

We have a fantastic programme for the children and young people at the Church. Children and young people stay with their families at the start of the service as we worship (sing songs!) together for the first part of the morning. Someone will announce when the children and young people need to go to their programme. We have young church for those from Yr R - Yr 6 and a youth group called Xtreme for our young people in years 7-13. There is a creche in the church foyer for younger children.

Is there a dress code?

No! Please just be yourself and come dressed in your 'normal' clothes.

Will I have to join in?

Not at all!
You are free to simply observe or participate as much as feels comfortable for you.
