Christmas QR trail

The Cambourne Church Christmas Trail should be up and running by the weekend of 12th/13th December with seven QR code posters around the town, which link to short video messages about different aspects of the Christmas story, and each featuring a carol. There is a map here showing the locations, and if you walk around all seven with your smartphone you will be able to get a quirky carol service by installments! The map can also be downloaded here.

Locations are given using what3words which is a system that gives every 3 square metre of land a unique identifier of three words. The app can be downloaded on iOS and Android from the relevant store without charge. If you don't wish to download the app the stars give the approximate location of the posters.

At each of the waypoints you will find a poster with a QR code. Scan the code with your smartphone and you will be shown a short Christmas message followed by a carol. Can you visit all seven?  Often, but not always, a QR code reader is already present within your phone’s camera function and if this is the case the camera should recognise the code automatically, but some people will need to download a QR code reader app.

Welcome Visitors

New to Church?

00 Welcome

Welcome! Whether you've just moved to the area, or have lived here all your life, we hope our website helps you to find out everything you want to know about our Church.

When & where does the church meet?

Due to the latest government advice regarding the protection of our community during the Coronavirus pandemic we have taken the unprecedented and sad, but necessary, decision to suspend all church gatherings including home groups and Sunday Worship until further notice.

Through this time of restrictions due to COVID-19 you can find our main Sunday offering, Sunday Diffferent, on our YouTube channel www.youtube.com/cambournechurch. A new service premieres each Sunday at 10.15am and is available to watch at any time after then.
Please look at our Facebook page and this website for further details about how we will be walking together at this difficult time.

Sunday morning services are normally held at 9.30am & 11.00am; the 9.30am service is more traditional and reflective, while the 11.00am service is more contemporary with activities offered for children and young people. Communion is celebrated on the second and fourth Sunday of the month. We all meet together at 10.00am during the month of August. On the fourth Sunday of the month at 7pm there is an informal service called Encounter.

We meet at:

Cambourne Church
Jeavons Lane
Cambourne
Cambs

You can see a map on our contact us page

There is limited parking available on the site.

What should I expect when I visit the church?

You will receive a very warm welcome particularly from our Welcome Team who will be able to answer your questions and direct you to where you need to go. There will be some singing to start with as well as some prayers and a reading from the bible. There will be a talk (some reflections) from one of the leaders of the church, with a chance to discuss it further at the end of the service.

Tea, coffee and biscuits are served after the service where there is plenty of time to meet new people and ask more questions.

What is there for children and young people at church?

We have a fantastic programme for the children and young people at the Church for ages 0–18. Children and young people stay with their families at the start of the service as we worship (sing songs!) together for the first part of the morning. Someone will announce when the children and young people need to go to their programme. We have young church for those from 0 - Yr 6 and a youth group called Xtreme for our young people in years 7-11.

For more information about what happens in the children's and youth work please visit the relevant age group section under church life.

Is there a dress code?

No! Please just be yourself and come dressed in your 'normal' clothes.

Will I have to join in?

Not at all!
You are free to simply observe or participate as much as feels comfortable for you.
